HAWKWATCH began it’s initial production in 2023. In addition to filming in Borrego Springs, California, the cast and crew traveled to Veracruz, Mexico, Antelope Valley, California, and Corpus Christi, Texas. The incredible spectacle of avian migration at these locations was captured on film.
For 3 years the two independent producers/financiers/directors gathered footage, edited over 500 hours of content, and eventually delivered the final cut in early 2026.
As it is for Swainson’s hawks, so it was for The HAWKWATCH Documentary: a long long journey, but well worth the effort!
